Group X (Exercise) Class Descriptions

All classes are suited for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced participants with the exception of Choreographed Step (It is Intermediate to Advanced).  Please let the instructor know your level.

  • Abs and Back - Get to the core of the matter with this class. Improve your core strength by experiencing core stabilization, unique inner strength exercises, and variations of the crunch designed to hit your midsection like never before.
     
  • Abs and Glutes- This class is not just crunch after crunch. Work the abdominal muscles with a variety of effective exercises in proper form, and then work a little lower. The results are definitely worth the effort!
     
  • Basic Step - Don't worry about complex choreography; this step class sticks to the basics. Suited for the newcomer, this class lets the participant focus on each step. Basic moves are combined for an awesome experience! This is in our super circuit and 20/20/20 classes.
     
  • Cardio Express - Do you have only 30 minutes to get your cardiovascular workout completed? Are you on the BODY FOR LIFE (BFL) challenge? If you said yes to either or both of these questions, then this class is especially designed for you! It is more athletic drill oriented.
     
  • Cardio Pump - What can two or three pound dumbbells do? Plenty! We "pump and squeeze on the top" with the arms while working the lower body at the same time. Try these compound moves and have a great "WOW" workout.  (20/20/20 classes)
     
  • Dumbbell Resistance Training (DRT) and Cardio - Can you work a major muscle group for 4 minutes straight with weights, do a minute of cardio, and keep that 4:1 split going for a whole class? It is definitely a metabolism booster.
     
  • Interval Step - Increase your cardio endurance with the step and resistance training. This class alternates high intensity stepping with strength training recovery for maximum results in a minimal amount of time.
     
  • Pilates Matwork - Have you been doing the same exercises the same way for years? Expand your horizons! This is the Joseph Pilates method of core exercise with controlled and fluid movements.
     
  • Super Circuit - Have fun doing the designated strength and cardio stations set up around the room. These timed intervals make for a dynamic circuit workout.
     
  • Turbokick - This exciting workout really kicks! Great music too! You have the option of keeping it low impact or going high. It's a fun way to release frustration (the whole body gets a terrific workout) and burn mega calories.
     
  • Total Body Conditioning (TBC) - A workout designed for total body conditioning. This class targets muscle strengthening and endurance with the use of a variety of resistance tools.
     
  • 20/20/20 - The ultimate in crosstraining! This class will combine step and total body conditioning with one other workout (ie. low impact, express, Yoga, Pilates, etc.)
     
  • Yoga - Relieve stress and increase flexibility with practicing yoga and find out what your mind's eye sees. Then experience the well deserved relaxation at the end of the class and feel rejuvenated to face the world again - stronger.

  • Zumba - Dance and have FUN! Mambo, Salsa, Bellydance, etc.  
     
  • PiYo (Pilates/Yoga)- Improve your strength, flexibility, and balance in addition to working your powerhouse (core muscles-abs, back, pelvis, and upper postural). Then relieve stress and experience the well-deserved relaxation toward the end of the hour and feel rejuvenated to face the world again--stronger.
